Comedy Cottage

Dearest Cottagers!

It’s time to get booking our 3rd Comedy Cottage show at the Harlequin Theatre New pop up in the Belfry in Redhill. Friday 29th March.

Our March shows have always been hosted by the inimitable late great Annabel Giles. Who appeared on the 1st televised Comic Relief and hosted our March shows in aid of Comic/Sports relief since we started the club.

Who can forget her ‘Rubbish Raffle’ compromising of Annabel’s household tat, like her childhood potty, an ex’s belongings or her son’s broken mug, stuck together again with glue. All hilarious and memorable.

Sadly, Annabel passed away suddenly at the end of last year. Leaving a big void for those who loved her dearly on and off stage.

She really enjoyed her annual stint at the Cottage, stating ‘it’s the only gig I agree to do every year’ and she loved you our wonderful audience. So much so that the family asked us to have some audience representation at her funeral.

Over the years Annabel helped us raise thousands of pounds towards the Comic Relief charitable work. So We felt it would be a fitting tribute to  this incredible lady if we ran this years March Show in her honor and in aid or 2 charities important to her. Martlets hospice who offered her care in her final days Home – Martlets and Amaze For families with disabled children and young people in Sussex – Amaze (amazesussex.org.uk)

Annabel’s beloved son Tedd, who often accompanied her, playing the role of her hilarious side kick from the wings, has agreed to run ‘Annabel’s Rubbish Raffle’ one last time to help raise funds for her charities – he’s given it his own spin on it, calling it the ‘RubbRaff’.

An incredible line-up awaits for you as always!  Who happen to be comedians who loved Annabel and she loved them.
